Richard Berger’s latest track, "Look Around," is a breath of fresh air—a feel-good tune with a message. From the moment it begins, the song transports you to a world where life feels simpler and brighter, reminding us of the beauty that’s right in front of us, if only we’d take a moment to notice.

From the start of the track, Berger meticulously layers warm synths and beats, creating one of his signature soundscapes. As the lead vocals enter, he sings, "Open my window / And I pull the blinds up / Pour me some coffee / It’s a brand new day," evoking a sense of fresh renewal. As the sound layers ascend, mirroring the emotional uplift, his vocals seamlessly blend with the lush instrumental backdrop, enveloping you in its rich texture.

But "Look Around" is more than some synths—it’s a commentary on the world we live in today. As we navigate 2025, constantly bombarded by digital distractions, the song’s poignant line, "Turn my phone off / I don’t really need that in my life," speaks directly to the overwhelming nature of modern technology. In an age where social media and the news can feel suffocating, Berger’s call to disconnect is a powerful reminder of the need to step back and find peace in the real world.

"I find it easier to write songs that are more melancholy and introspective. For “Look Around”, I really wanted to write something more upbeat about taking a moment to appreciate the small things... the beautiful things in life that we can easily miss when we are busy at work, on our phones and worrying about everything. I think that is especially important given everything that is going on right now. So, if you agree, join me and take a breath to pause and just “Look Around”." - Richard Berger

At its core, the track is about rediscovering the simple pleasures of life. "Put on some music / My troubles fade away" is a line that resonates with anyone who’s ever used music as a way to escape or find solace. Berger paints a picture of a day free from distractions, where the little things—a morning coffee, a good song, or the warmth of the sun—are enough to bring joy. His lyrics serve as a reminder that we often overlook the beauty in the everyday moments, and that the key to happiness lies in being present and aware of what’s around us.
